Hi this is Will Fishkin and today we're going to be talking about Courage and what it means for you to have Courage.  In our last session we talked about energy and how important it is to have enough energy. And further that you cannot store energy you can only generate it. I gave you some tools for looking at how to increase your energy including eating sleeping and nutritional information.

Let me explain to you why this topic is so important to me. When I was first starting out on this journey, I had what is often called impostor syndrome. Impostor syndrome is when you don't think that you're good enough in order to provide value to other people. At a certain point, I looked back on my 30 years as a Chiropractor and I realized that as a successful businessman, I had no lack of ability. It was then that I realized that Courage was just another word for Confidence. So I started little by little to increase my level of Confidence and exert the Courage that I had.

In order to have more Confidence and express more Courage, it is important that you take a look at what awareness you have of your fears. Our fears are usually based on one of three things: loss pain, which is when we fear that by doing something we may actually lose something that we now have; process pain, which is when the mere act or process of changing will be too difficult; outcome pain, which is when you believe that the effort you put into some change will actually not lead to a better outcome, often times stated as “the grass is not really greener on the other side of the fence.”

Here are a few questions you can ask yourself in order to determine what is your level of awareness of these fears.

I haven't changed or chase my dreams with more courage or commitment because I'm afraid I might lose…

I haven't changed or chased my dreams with more courage or commitment because I'm afraid the process might bring on the following hardships to me…

I haven't changed or chased my dreams with more courage or commitment because I'm afraid of despite all the effort the outcome might not be as good as I thought And I could end up…

A sure way to build Confidence and to express your Courage is by consistently creating and responding to challenges in your life by taking action.

Here's an exercise you can do: list three areas in your life where you're going to take bold action in the next 60 days and write down how are you going to do it.

In summary, Please remember that building confidence is something that you do little by little by taking action, accomplishing things that are important to you, and moving on to your next goal!
