Mastering your Mind through Psychology Mastery
Oct 24, 2021Hi this is Will Fishkin and today we're going to begin a new journey into how to master your mind by achieving discipline and setting up habits in the areas that we have already been delving into in the past six weeks. One thing that I have noticed in coaching my clients is it requires a tremendous amount of discipline in order for me to be really effective. I know that I learned this from some of the great people such as Brendan Bouchard, Tony Robbins, Dan Kennedy, Jack Canfield, and Brian Tracy.
I remember a time when I was at an event in Gene Simmons from the group Kiss was speaking. I was sitting in the first row just off the stage, and Gene Simmons came down off the stage as he was talking. As he stood right over me he said “I am a beautiful person.” He looked at me and then he said “what do you think of that?” I said I am a beautiful person, too. And he put his hand on my shoulder and he looked me in the eyes and he said “yes you are.”
I want to ask you a few questions about your mindset and how it makes you powerful.
If you had to describe your mindset and how it made you successful to a person you are mentoring how would you describe it?
What is one belief that you could adopt about yourself that would make you feel more happy and confident?
Think about a time when you felt confident, what did you say to yourself?
Do you ever find yourself focusing too much on negative thoughts or your faults? if so, when does that happen and what are those thoughts and faults? How are they affecting you?
What could you do to create a healthier, more positive psychology in life? How could you make that a habit?
Over the last 50 years, the field of psychology has taught us to focus almost exclusively on what is wrong with us, our maladies and disorders. Collectively many of us are suffering from a weakness hangover where we focus more on our limitations and problems then what makes us strong and limitless. It's time to re engage and focus on what makes us remarkable! I want you to answer the following questions in order to get yourself on the path to focus on and live from your strengths not your limitations.
- My weaknesses and limitations that I have overly focused on include…
- My five top strengths in life include…
- If I live from these top strengths more often and with greater focus, these things would change in my life…
- The way that I'm going to remind myself of my strengths and live from them more often is...
In my next blog post we'll be talking about mastery of your Physiology.
